Let's Party

Hi all!  Wow, seems like forever since I have posted.  My wrist/thumb is taking forever to heal because it's really hard NOT to use it, but I keep it in a brace and baby it as much as I can. I've missed all of you and thought I would sit down today and a make a post for Silhouette Sunday even if I have to use the 'hunt and peck' method of typing!  :-)
The project for today is one I made pre-wrist problem.  I actually whipped this out prior to my youngest son and his girlfriend and her kids coming up for a little backyard BBQ; then I forgot to use it!!!  But, I love how it turned out and because the dancing bugs are on a piece of card stock and is removable, I can make other themes and swap them out.  Balloons and cake for a birthday would be cute.  Maybe champagne glasses for an anniversary, a baby themed insert for a shower.  The possibilities are endless.

The tray has a removable acrylic sheet for protection and came with a sectioned photo mat.  Neat, but I had other ideas.

I chose these two cute little Silhouette Studio dancing bugs to adorn my tray    Choosing the paper to use took longer than cutting them out.  Once I had all the pieces cut I assembled them on a black sheet of card stock using Zip Dry glue.  This is the part of the tray design that is removable and can be swapped out with another 'picture' for a different theme.

Here's the tray assembled.  The words 'Let's Party' were cut from holographic vinyl and attached to the top of the protective acrylic sheet so you have, starting from the bottom, the tray itself, the card stock with those cute little dancing bugs, and then the acrylic sheet with 'Let's Party' .  Cute, huh?

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hugs, Shawna

Adorable!! Love the little bugs (they really do look like they're dancing!) and that tray looks so neat!
Hope your wrist/hand gets better soon! Take care of it.
