Hello everyone! Long time no see. Or should I say long time no post? I have been extremely busy, as summer's usually are, and crafting time has been at a premium. I have been doing lots of things in my yard and that has taken up so much time. Lots of time, but well worth it. I also moved a bunch of furniture around and made a couple of changes in the Sunroom Studio, but all that came to a screaming halt when my wrist started acting up. I have been wearing a brace on it, which helps, but basically it is just going to take time to heal.. I was able to put make a small project with my Silhouette, though, and wanted to share that with you today. You know, just so you all know I am still alive and kickin', er, craftin'! :-)
I needed a mirror or compact to keep at my desk in my office at the mortuary for those last second touch-ups and I wanted to keep it out on a shelf to make it easy to grab when needed; but I also wanted it to be cute. Sooooooo, I found a simple flower pattern in my Silhouette Studio program and made three copies of it on the art board. Next I graduated the sizes so there would be a large, medium, and small copy. I chose my paper, loaded into the Sil, adjusted the settings and hit the cut button. (and I swear, I still get a thrill watching that thing cut!!) ---- ya I know --- get a life, right? :-) Once cut I stacked all three images from largest to smallest, attaching each successive one with Zip Dry glue. I finished the flower off with a button for the center and then attached to the top of the compact with more Zip Dry. Simple and cute and since it will not be stashed in a drawer or purse it should stay nice and pretty.
I'm hoping to take a couple of hours and go enjoy the last installment of Harry Potter tomorrow afternoon. Have you seen it?
Enjoy your Sunday and, as always, thank you for stopping by.

Sorry to hear about your wrist. I hope it gets back to normal soon. This flower is adorable! And yes, my DD and I saw the last film together. I had to rewatch all the episodes before we went to the theater, but it was worth the time, and we thoroughly enjoyed the final Huzzah!
So very cute - and useful too Shawna! Sounds like you're having a busy, busy summer! Hope your wrist is doing better now. Take care and go watch Harry Potter! I haven't seen the movie but hear it's a real tear-jerker.
