The world didn't end yesterday! How nice for all of us :-) So now that we all feel safe and secure once again, Silhouette Sunday can continue on as before. But first, I would like to thank the new followers of Paper Kisses and Inky Wishes. WELCOME! As an FYI, I usually do not post more than twice a week, sometimes less, so don't fear that you will be inundated with stuff from this site. Should you be busy and not feel like reading an email just delete. I won't mind. I guess....... *SNIFF* If you would like more frequent posts, I have to warn you that probably will not happen. I have many irons in the fire, so to speak, and my blogging time is limited. But PLEASE stay with me. I love to blog and love my followers, but like I said, time is at a premium and I am sure many of you can relate to that. I want you to know that I very much appreciate your interest and hope that you will find some inspiration and a few laughs along the way. And as you can tell, I can get a bit windy at times.
So on to today's post. This is the card I made for my grandson, Fletcher, who turned 12 yesterday. The Silhouette cut file is called Monster Truck and I just re-sized it to fit on my 5.5 x 8.5 card base. I cut the body of the truck twice , once in the blue color and once in a greyish color that I put behind the blue to give the window, lights, door handle, and roll bar some contrast. The tires were then cut, and the rims were a separate cut. I put some small strips of black paper behind the stripes on the body of the truck to give a bit more detail and I used some Tsukineko Brilliance ink (Dew Drop in Platinum Planet) and swiped across the roll bar and the hub caps to give a bit of chromy shine. Unfortunately it doesn't show up in the photo. I then made the sentiment using a regular rubber stamp of unknown origin (it's really, really old and unmounted) and 'loaded' it in the bed of the truck. Easy peasy, but a card I think any little boy (sorry Fletcher --- you are still gramma's LITTLE boy) would like. Of course the money inside helped, too, I am sure. Love you Fletcher!!!
Thanks for stopping today! Have a WONDERFUL week! Hugs, Shawna
