A manly card

Today's post is short and sweet.  A masculine card ---- you know how difficult these are for me ----- for the stash.  Pretty stark --- what is that saying about my attitude?  :-)  Time has been in short supply during this busy season.  Can you relate?  Hoping to get some craft room time in SOON!!  Happy New Year everyone.  Off to work.

Merry Christmas!!

No card today ----- I didn't get my Christmas cards posted, but it is too late now.  I've been down with that nasty cold that has been going around, and I just didn't get to a lot of things.  But gosh, it'll give me a head start on next year's posts, right?  LOL!
I want to wish each and every one of you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a wonderful NEW YEAR!!!  Thank you so much for being a Paper Kisses and Inky Wishes reader!

Cardinal fix

Good morning everyone --- are you ready for Christmas?  Wow, it is rushing toward us like nobody's business.  I think I have a handle on it all and can claim a few hours to just sit back and enjoy the results of putting in all that work.  Well, one can hope.
I took the grandkids to see Narnia, Voyage of the Dawn Treader last Sunday.  How special to spend an afternoon with them, and we all enjoyed the movie immensely.  But on to today's post.
I don't know about you, but I get excited whenever I find another use for my Copics.  Those marvelous markers just have so many uses!!!  We don't have cardinals here in the west, and someone gave me a sweet little welcome sign featuring cardinals and I absolutely love it.  What gorgeous birds! However, over the course of a few years the red began to fade and/or wear off. I really wanted to put that little sign up to add a bit of brightness to the winter months, but they were looking pretty shabby.  I decided to try touching up the red with my Copics and was almost done with the process when I thought you might like to see how it turned out so I took a couple of photos to share with you.  The cast resin took the color very well, and I am very happy with the results.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Are dreaming of an ...............

early Spring?  I am! LOL!  Winter has not even officially arrived and I can't wait for it to give way to Spring.  Truth be told, this season started out with single digit low temps that were reminisent of January, but they have since moderated and haven't been bad at all.  HOWEVER, there is nothing like Spring and all the promise and newness it brings.  I can wait (like we have any choice in the matter!!) but I did want to share a trio of cards I made when I needed a thank you card and just couldn't resist making a flowery spring-type project.  A little break from rain, snow, and ice.  One is a thank you, one is a thinking of you, and the third is a get well card.  Hope you enjoy them.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are ready for Christmas.  It is just around the corner!!

Accident

Good morning fellow papercrafters and other interested parties.  Everyone recovered from the big Thanksgiving feast?  Now it's on to the count down to Christmas and soon 2010 will be history.  Wow.  Totally unbelievable.
It's promising to be a long, cold winter here in the mountains of Nor Cal; we have already gotten single digit night time temps and the snow from the last storm is hanging around. This is January weather for these parts, however, being in a better position this winter on so many levels is going to make all the difference in my "attitude" (I can hear you sighing and thinking "thank goodness!!  LOL) and I am looking for some major time in the sun room  (aka as the ice box this time of the year! :-)  studio.  Maybe not full-bore until after the holidays, but you know that's not very long.  Hope you will stick around!
Today's card is one I made for a friend's husband who skidded off an icy road and down an embankment.  Thankfully he is OK, but the odd part is that just 20 minutes prior a co-worker of his had gone over at the exact same spot, had seen Don's headlights and thought he was being rescued.  He's OK, too, though, so all is well except for two totaled vehicles.
Thanks for stopping by.  Hope the rest of your week is a good one and the upcoming weekend is good, too.

You can't see it in this picture, but the front of the little truck is crumpled as well as the rear of the truck.
